Three Malaysian students are among international students across 102 countries who will be joining the Harvard College of 2027.

The trio are - Ho Shu Xin from Ipoh, Pua E Rick and Sydny Lum Shen Li from Kuala Lumpur.

International students make up 14.5% out of the 1,942 students admitted.

According to a statement by the Harvard Club of Malaysia, the College received a total of 56,937 applications, with a 3.41% acceptance rate.

Rick wants to study Biological Sciences, Shen Li wants to study Economics, and Shu Xin wants to major in Educational Psychology.

On the admissions, Harvard alumni interviewer Wan Nadiah Wan Mohd Abdullah Yaakob said that the university searches for students who have growth and potential and who would benefit from access to the resources at Harvard to create positive change for the world.

“These are students who either have a deep interest or passion in a particular area or activity and who have managed to accomplish something with the resources currently at their disposal," she said.

“The best interviews we have are not really interviews but rather they are good conversations amongst peers," added Wan Nadiah.
