In a commendable gesture, the Terengganu State Government is set to announce special incentives for junior racer Qabil Irfan Azlan, who recently secured the coveted title of overall champion at the 2023 MiniGP World Series championship in Valencia, Spain.

Terengganu Youth Development Committee, Sports, and Non-Government Committee Chairman, Hishamuddin Abd Karim, revealed that the cash incentives would be unveiled by Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar in a dedicated ceremony scheduled for next Wednesday. This event will also feature a racing performance by young talents from Terengganu.

The chairman emphasized that the incentives are a motivational reward and a significant contribution to encourage Qabil Irfan, a Terengganu native, to continue striving for more success in his racing career.

"Alhamdulillah, the state government is very proud of the achievements of Qabil Irfan, who has not only brought glory to the country but has also elevated the reputation of the state of Terengganu," stated Hishamuddin Abd Karim during a warm welcome for Qabil Irfan at the Sultan Mahmud International Airport.

Qabil Irfan expressed his gratitude for the support he received, acknowledging the challenges he overcame to achieve success. As the second child among four brothers, he recounted facing various obstacles, including rigorous training sessions and adverse weather conditions with temperatures dropping to 6 degrees Celsius.

"This is my second participation in the MiniGP World Series Championship. The first-time last year, I only managed to secure fourth place overall. I didn't expect to become the champion. My goal was to qualify for the final round. Thank God, I was able to overcome all the obstacles even though the weather was very cold, causing the road to be wet and slippery," shared Qabil Irfan, who draws inspiration from Italian motorcycle racer Valentino Rossi.

The Terengganu government's initiative not only recognizes the accomplishments of Qabil Irfan but also underscores the commitment to nurturing and supporting young talents in motorsports. The upcoming ceremony promises to be a celebration of achievement and a testament to the state's dedication to fostering excellence in the field of racing.
