SPM 2022 exam for candidates affected by floods starts on March 16

Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) candidates affected by the recent floods in the country will take their examinations from March 16 onwards.

Education Minister, Fadhlina Sidek, said the new schedule would involve 450 candidates from Johor; 79 from Pahang and four from Sarawak.

They will be sitting fthe economics, science, physics and home science papers. The subjects were previously slated for March 1 and 2.

"We will begin on March 16 but we will also make considerations, especially with logistics preparations and other related matters.

"We are hoping for the weather to improve to avoid future rescheduling of papers," she said.

A total 17 schools in Johor and two in Pahang were affected by the floods.

Fadhlina also said action was being taken to overcome the shortage of teachers in the country, especially in Sarawak, before the new school term begins.

These include the matter of teacher placements, which is being looked at jointly between the Education Ministry director-general Datuk Pkharuddin Ghazali and the Education Service Commission.
