A traffic policeman in Sabah recently went over and above his line of duty to clear a clogged drain of debris.

The clogged drain had caused water to spillover and flood the nearby road.

While on duty and still in uniform, he went into the drain and cleared the debris with his bare hands.

Following his selfless act, the Penampang police shared on his act on their Facebook.

The drain was at Meruntum Village in Putatan, Sabah, while the policeman was identified as Corporal Shah Erman.

His act helped the stagnant water that had been hindering traffic flow from the road into the drain.

In the 2 minutes 40 seconds video, Shah Erman can be seen standing in a large drain, trying to remove debris that was blocking the flow of rainwater into the drain.

Since its posting, the video has gone viral online with netizens praising Shah Erman for his good deed.

In recognition of his hard work, the Penampang District Police Department awarded him with a certificate of appreciation two days after the incident.
