From tomorrow, there will no longer be temperature checks and manual recording of personal particulars at entry points in premises.

According to Senior Defence Minister, Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein, the government had decided to abolish the Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOP) put in place two years ago.

However, he stressed that checks using MySejahtera were still mandatory at all premises.

“However, if the owners of premises wish to continue temperature checks and maintain record books for check-ins, the government welcomes and encourages it,” he said.

Last month, Health Minister, Khairy Jamaluddin said Malaysia will remove the requirement of temperature checks at public premises as it was not an effective measure to control Covid-19.

The public have since welcomed this move as more Covid-19 carriers these days are asymptomatic.
