The state government through the Perak State Sports Council (MSN) will give incentives to two state athletes Muhammad Azeem Mohd Fahmi and Sheeren Samson Vallabouy for successfully claiming bronze medals in athletics events at the 2022 Hangzou Asian Games.

Chairman of the Education, Higher Education, Youth and Sports Committee of Perak Khairudin Abu Hanipah said the amount of the incentive is still being discussed between the state government and the Perak MSN, but it will be given in the near future.
"I congratulate them on the success achieved by both of them and as everyone knows, it does not come easily but requires great sacrifice.
"In relation to this incentive, the MSN has certain rates for giving it to Perak state athletes who are successful and excel on the international stage," he stated.
Just last month, Muhammad Azeem, 19, who was nicknamed 'Usain Bolt of Malaysia' managed to bag the bronze medal in the 100-meter sprint event with a record of 10.11 seconds.
On the other hand, Shereen, 25, clinched the bronze in the women's 400 meters event with a record of 52.58 seconds thus ending the country's 17-year wait to reap a medal in the race category.
