The Mountain Dew Dew Challenge, a nationwide paintball tournament, recently reached its grand finale at Sentul Depot Kuala Lumpur, leaving an indelible mark not only on the battlefield but also in the Guinness World Records. The event showcased the incredible spirit of competition and camaraderie among thousands of participants across Malaysia, with the ultimate goal of securing a spot in the grand finale.
The excitement of the tournament was not limited to the paintball battles, as attendees at the finale were treated to a myriad of activities and vendors, turning the event into a multifaceted celebration. From a Domino’s BoxKu corner to mini PUBG mobile tournaments, a special Mountain Dew Mixology booth, and carnival games, the finale was a hub of entertainment beyond the intense paintball clashes.
One of the highlights of the event was the successful attempt at breaking two Guinness World Records. The first record was for "The Largest Paintball Word," created using an astonishing 4,715 pellets. The second record was achieved for "The Most People Shooting Paintball Simultaneously," with an impressive participation of 298 individuals. These remarkable feats added an extra layer of achievement to an already extraordinary event.
Amy Gan, Etika’s VP of Marketing, expressed her enthusiasm for the success of the Dew Challenge and the impact it had on the Mountain Dew brand. The Dew Challenge exemplifies the brand's commitment to pushing boundaries and creating lasting memories for its consumers.
The journey to the grand finale was no easy feat, with thousands of participants engaging in PUBG-inspired battles across Malaysia's northern, southern, central, and eastern regions for two months. Only 16 finalists managed to secure their spot in the grand finale, where they battled fiercely for supremacy on the paintball PUBG tournament stage.
In the end, it was AZ MYX who emerged victorious, bringing pride to the northern region and claiming a significant portion of the RM200,000 prize pool. The second and third places were secured by Sem9 Junior (Central region) and Twenty2rich Guerilla (Northern region) respectively, showcasing the diverse talent and competitive spirit that the Dew Challenge drew from participants across the nation.
As the curtains close on the Mountain Dew Dew Challenge grand finale, the memories created on and off the paintball battlefield linger. The event not only celebrated the thrill of competition but also emphasized Mountain Dew's commitment to fostering a community of like-minded individuals who share a passion for adventure, competition, and the unforgettable experiences that come with it.
