By: Michelle Liew
National badminton champion, Cheah Liek Hou made the country proud by clinching two championship titles in the Brazilian International Badminton Championship yesterday.
Liek Hou's first championship title in the competition began in the SU5 men's singles event when he faced compatriot Muhammad Fareez Anuar.
Even though Malaysia has won the gold medal, both national players still put on a fierce action which ended up in Liek Hou’s favour with 21-19, 21-19 within 29 minutes in the court.
Soon after, Liek Hou and Fareez teamed up in the men's doubles event against the Indian pair of Chirag Baretha-Raj Kumar who were the first seeds of the tournament.
Liek Hou and Fareez won the match defeating the Indian pair 21-13, 21-18 after 25 minutes of fighting in the court.
It was also Liek Hou-Fareez's third consecutive victory over the Indian pair after the same script was drawn in the final of the Bahrain International in May last year, and later on in the Spanish International in February.
