The karate team, as defending champions, is hopeful in contributing another gold medal in the men’s team kumite event.

The third day of the event will see national athletes compete in the diving and athletics tournaments.

The diving squad emerged as the most outstanding team in the previous edition in Hanoi, Vietnam last year when it swept eight gold medals. The team continues to be one of the country’s pillars to add to the golden shine.

The athletics team will be aiming for 10 gold medals this time. Jackie Wong and Grace Wong, who both won gold in the men’s and women’s category in Hanoi, will be competing at the Morodok Techo National Stadium today.
