This year, TIME magazine embarked on a new project, the Time 100 Next which highlights 100 rising stars “shaping the future of business, entertainment, sports, politics, science, health and more”.

And guess who made it into the list? (Drum roll, please!)

It is none other than our very own homeboy, Henry Golding!! Henry joins the likes of other international celebrities in the list such as YouTube sensation Liza Koshy and first wheelchair-bound Broadway star, Ali Stroker.

Congratulating him was fellow actress Michelle Yeoh, his onscreen mother in ‘Crazy Rich Asian’. “His ethnicity, his background and his success reflect the inevitable—that we are all one race, one global culture, and we will soon no longer have to talk about controversies surrounding representation. I am proud of his push for Asian representation,” she added.

Henry first gained a presence on television through hosting shows such as BBC’s The Travel Show and other local productions including the 8tv Quickie show.
