Johor's Ronny Chieng wins Emmy Award for 'The Daily Show'

Malaysian comedian Ronny Chieng recently announced that 'The Daily Show' had won an Emmy Award.
Chieng, from Johor, is an actor and TV host based in the United States and has been part of The Daily Show since 2015.
The show won Outstanding Talk Series at the 2024 Emmy Awards on January 15.
Taking to Instagram today, the 38-year-old said he was elated to be part of the team at 'The Daily Show'.
"We won an Emmy! Thank you @trevornoah for hiring me on @thedailyshow in 2015 and changing my life. The best job with the best people in comedy." he wrote.
Chieng has been a correspondent for The Daily Show for the past nine years and on Nov 21 last year, he appeared as the show's guest host for the first time.
Aside from his correspondent role at ‘The Daily Show’, Chieng has also appeared in several blockbuster movies, such as ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ and ‘Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. He also has two standup comedy shows on Netflix.
