Greek Long-jumper Auctions Shoes for to Raise Funds for Turkey Earthquake Child Victims

Greece's famous long jumper will auction off his shoes to donate to child victims of the Turkey earthquake.

The shoes worn by Olympic gold medalist Miltiadis Tentoglou during the World Athletics Indoor Tour in France on Wednesday will be auctioned as suggested by his coach Giorgos Pomaski.

Tentglou won four consecutive European titles in 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022.

At least 38,044 people were killed by two powerful earthquakes that shook southern Turkey on February 6, the country's disaster agency said on Friday.

The magnitude 7.7 and 7.6 quakes hit Kahramanmaras and struck 10 other provinces namely Adana, Adiyaman, Diyarbakir, Hatay, Gaziantep, Malatya, Kilis, Osmaniye, Elazig and Sanliurfa.

More than 13 million people have been affected by the devastating quakes.
