Civil servants and pensioners will receive a special Hari Raya gift this year following the government's announcement of the Special Aidilfitri Aid Package (BKAA) for all those who qualify.
They will receive the payments on April 17, said public services director-general, Datuk Dr Zulkapi Mohamed.
A sum of RM700 will be paid out to all civil servants on Grade 56 and below who are still serving as of April17 including 87 contract appointments, while public services retirees on the other hand will receive BKKA totalling RM350.
For this year, the BKKA had been extended to government retirees on pension, published pension recipients, Employees Provident Group Scheme retirees, veterans with pension and non-pensioned veterans.
Dr Zulkapli said the BKKA is a means of appreciating the efforts and sacrifices of civil servants in providing services to members of the public.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim had during the tabling of budget 2023 last month, said the provision of a special Aidilfitri financial aid package is a measure of concern taken by the government to help civil servants in terms of carrying out planning and early preparations to celebrate Hari Raya.
