Government adds another 412 vaccination centres for PICKids programme

The government has added another 412 walk-in vaccination centres to encourage more parents to bring their children (5 to11-years-old) for Covid-19 vaccinations under the PICKids programme.

Deputy health minister, Datuk Dr Noor Azmi Ghazali said this was also to take advantage of the month-long school holidays that began on Feb 26 till March 20.

“These new centres will supplement the existing walk-in centres that began operations on March 1,” he said.

The earlier centres are at WTC, Axiata, IDCC and Soka Gakkai in the Klang Valley.

“If the quota for daily vaccinations run out, parents can choose to return to the centre the next day or they can also opt to book their children’s slots via MySejahtera.”

He said parents who registered their children via MySejahtera would receive links of available slots.

A total 904,368 or 25.5 per cent of the 3.6 million children aged 5 to 11 have received one dose of the vaccine as of March 1. The PICKids programme began on February 3.
