Public university students will receive assistance from the government in the form of flight tickets to help them return to their respective hometowns.

Transport Minister, Anthony Loke Siew Fook said the assistance which will be launched in August, will be for students from Sabah and Sarawak studying in public universities in Peninsular Malaysia.
"It is expected to be launched this August, before Merdeka Day. This is our aid incentive to public university students this year," he said.
The aid will be provided in the form of credit to the accounts of the respective students to purchase the flight tickets.
"The credit is not to be used once and for all but it depends on the flight ticket itself. We will provide a quantum that will be announced later.
"I understand that many students from Sabah and Sarawak cannot afford to return home even once a year because of financial constraints and ticket prices that are too high," added Loke.
