Prompt action by firefighters managed to save a local man who is believed to have tried to commit suicide at the Sky Deck building, Menara Kuala Lumpur yesterday on January 16.

The Kuala Lumpur Operations Centre said in a statement that it received information regarding the incident at about 5.11 pm.

“A total of 25 officers and members along with three machines from the Hang Tuah and Pudu Fire and Rescue Stations were deployed to the scene.

“Upon arrival at the location, the 21-year-old man was standing at the end of the Sky Deck building, Menara Kuala Lumpur which is 300 meters high, believed to be trying to commit suicide,” he stated.

Commenting further, the victim, however, was caught from behind and rescued at about 6.38 pm.

“The victim was taken to a safe place before being handed over to the police for further action,” he added.

What may not be visible to the eyes may hurt the most, we urge everyone to be kind to others and help each other go through such tumultuous times.
