It was a dream come true for less abled Mohd Khairi Othman when Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al Mustafa Billah Shah gifted him and his family with a new house.
The new house in Kampung Tanjung Pulai, Pulau Manis, Pekan, Pahang was donated through the Yayasan Al-Sultan Abdullah (YASA) House Donation Programme.
In a Facebook post, Istana Negara said that Mohd Khairi "described the gift as very valuable and meaningful to him and his family".
His Majesty also spent time talking to the recipient and his family as they inspected the house together.
The house on stilts has three rooms and was built taking into account the needs of Mohd Khairi, who uses a wheelchair due to disabilities in both his arms and legs.
"Hopefully the donation of this house can ease their burden, provide comfort and improve their standard of living after losing their home due to the flood disaster," said Istana Negara.
