To use or not to use – the decision on whether one can remove face masks in enclosed areas will be announced tomorrow.
Health Minister, Khairy Jamaluddin said he had since received recommendations from experts and had also gathered feedback from the public.
“I will make an announcement on the matter on Wednesday,” he said.
Earlier, the Malaysian Medical Association had urged the government to review its policy on the mandatory wearing of face masks in enclosed areas.
Its president Dr Koh Kar Chai had said that the number of Covid-19 cases had reached a plateau of sorts and the hospitalisation rates due to the virus was at a manageable level.
“However, we cannot take anything for granted and I will consider the views of all experts before making a final decision.
“The safety and wellbeing of the people cannot be compromised,” added Khairy.
