Jaane Jaan, a crime-thriller movie currently streaming on Netflix tells the tale of a single mother and her daughter who commit a crime and a neighbour who helps them cover it up.

Kareena Kapor plays a single mother (Maya D'Souza), while Naren (Jaideep Ahlawat) is the neighbour and Karan Anand (Vijay Varma) is the police officer investigating the homicide.
Ajit Mhatre played by Saurabh Sachdeva is Maya's abusive ex-husband who tracks her down and begins harassing her for money after 14 years.
During an incident at her home, Maya and her daughter, Tara (Naisha Khannaj) kill Ajit and Naren helps them cover it up.
The movie is an adaptation of the Japanese bestselling novel, Keigo Higashino's 'The Devotion of Suspect X'.
Its intrigue lies not in identifying the killer but in discovering how the culprit outsmarts the cops.
What follows is a game of cat-and-mouse that is shrouded in a battle of wits.
Despite the slow pace, the movie keeps you hooked to the screen, which is also in part, because of the stellar cast.
