8-year-old from Sarawak to represent Malaysia at World Championship of Performing Arts 2024

Sarawak's Dion Das Louis will be representing the country at the World Championship of Performing Arts 2024 in Long Beach, California, United States of America.

Fondly known as 'The Little Bornean Birdie', he was selected after winning the Junior Dance category at the Grand Final of the Malaysian Championships of Performing Arts 2024.

The championship was held at Panggung Bandaraya in Kuala Lumpur recently.

The eight-year-old performed the contemporary Ngajat dance which was inspired by hornbills and sparrows.

He won a gold medal and RM3,000 in scholarships and the right to represent Malaysia in the USA.

The  World Championship of Performing Arts will be held from June 28 to July 6.
