The story of a 64-year-old woman on social media who had decided to continue her studies has become a source of inspiration for women around the country.
The woman, Ku Meriam Ku Hussain, who has 10 grandchildren is now in her third year of her degree in management and is pursuing her studies at Universiti Sains Malaysia via distance learning.
"My mother, fondly known as Mak Wan wants to prove that age is not a barrier to knowledge," wrote her third child on social media platforms accompanied by photographs of her mother.
It has always been Ku Meriam's dream to hold a graduation scroll since she finished her SPM in 1976.
She recently set foot on campus for the first time after signing up for a one week intensive programme after doing her studies online all this while.
"My mother has no set goal, but it has always been her dream to get a degree," added her daughter, Nurul Huda Sarkadi, 38.
Her photographs on social media have since drawn lots of encouragement from netizens who praised her for her efforts and wished her all the best.
