Police in Pulau Langkawi recently held an appreciation ceremony for their Labrador for the canine’s help in catching a drug dealer.
In a Facebook post, the police said “Black” uncovered a suspect’s hidden drugs worth RM7,584 during a raid.
Police had raided the dealer’s house in Kampung Kelibang and nabbed the suspect but were unable to locate the drugs.
They then called in Black who sniffed out the 126.4 grammes of heroin which was stashed in several plastic packs and hidden under a box in a hut near the house.
For his hard work, Black received lots of food and a certificate of appreciation which were presented by Kedah police chief, Datuk Kamarul Zaman Mamat.
The gifts were received by Black’s trainer, Lance Corporal Johan Anak Jame.
Several officers and personnel were also present at the ceremony in support of Black.
