In the true Malaysian spirit of multi-racialism, a Malay man recently became a social media sensation for a very small, simple act of kindness.
To cheer up a fellow patient, who was an elderly Chinese man, he not only sang him a popular Cantonese song, but also offered to pray for his good health.
They also exchanged numbers so they could keep in touch after they were discharged.
@ivy_neohGlad to see people from difference races coming along together. Thank you uncle for entertaining my sick father with a great Cantonese song 🥰🥰
The video was posted by @Ivy_Neoh on her Tik Tok account which showed the exchange between her father and the Malay uncle at the hospital ward in Kedah.
She also thanked the uncle for entertaining her ill father with the great Cantonese song.
In the 12-second video, the Malay uncle was flawless in his rendition of popular Cantonese song, “Shangai Beach” by famous Hong Kong singer, Francis Yip.
Ivy was also taken by surprise by the uncle’s action of coming to her father’s side to pray for his quick recovery before he was discharged.
A little kindness goes a long way, especially during these hard and trying times.
