Julian Yee has earned his place as a household name in the national figure skating arena. Not only are his impressive skating skills breathtaking, but it is also the creative element that he exercises during his performances that will blow you away.

Check out some of his amazing routines at the 2018 Skate America awards (he certainly made mopping look really fun!)

This time Julian impressed the crowd yet again at the 2019 SEA Games!

The 22-year-old performed two famous rock and roll tunes at the Philippines Sea Games yesterday and secured Malaysia’s fourth gold medal!

Dressed in black, Julian earned a total point of 202.62, beating two other figure skaters from the Philippines and Thailand.

When asked about the secret behind his victory, Julian was quick to acknowledge his song selections as his secret weapon: The White Stripes – “Seven Nation Army” and AC/DC’s “Highway to Hell.

“I tried to engage the audience, to make everybody more involved and make them feel like they were skating with me,” he told the News Straits Times.

“These kinds of songs are louder and more exciting, a lot of people know these songs compared to more generic (skating) music, which are very slow classical stuff,” he added.

All in all, Julian is proud to honour our nation by defending his gold medal outside Malaysia.

Aside from Julian, other fellow national athletes have also found success in their respective sport. Wushu fighter, Loh Choon How was the first national athlete to secure a gold medal with an impressive score at the men’s Wushu’s Taolu Taijiquan event.

The country’s second gold medal came from breakdancer Sam Jee Lek and the national polo team secured the third gold medal!

Go, Team Malaysia!

Congratulations on these amazing victories and keep up the good work!
