YouTube superstar, Lilly Singh needs no introduction. Dubbed, ‘Superwoman’, she has built a name for herself as a charismatic personality with over 14 million subscribers. She even authored her own book, ‘How to Be a Bawse: A Guide to Conquering Life’.
Now, she is set to add another feather in her cap! Her new late night show, ‘A Little Late with Lilly Singh’, set to premiere on September 16 marks history in the making for late night shows in America.
Not only will she be the first woman of colour to host a late night show on one of the four major American broadcast networks; her writing staff will also be the first gender equal team of writers for a late night show! The team of writers consists 3 women (Marina Cockenberg, Mona Mira and Jen Burton) and 3 men (Sean O’Connor, Sergio Serna and Jonathan Giles) (AWESOME!).
As depicted in the recent motion picture, ‘Late Night’ starring Emma Thompson and Mindy Kaling, the world of late-night comedy has prominently been dominated by men. Needless to say, Lilly and her team of writers are bringing their ‘A’ game with a “new, authentic and refreshing perspective” to late night comedy.

Taking over from long-time late night show host Carson Daly, the YouTube sensation said in her statement, “An Indian-Canadian woman with her own late night show? Now that is a dream come true.”
“I’m thrilled to bring it to life on NBC, and I hope my parents consider this to be exciting as a grandchild,” joked Lilly.
