Frontliners all over Malaysia are our unsung heroes in these challenging times.
It is certainly tough being a doctor, nurse or healthcare staff exposed to high risks in dealing with Covid-19 patients. One such team of frontliners at the Sungai Buloh Hospital in Selangor recently received global recognition for their efforts in combating Covid-19. The hospital became the centre of attention in March, as the designated hospital for treating infected patients and curbing Covid-19.
The Global Health Award is awarded to companies within the region and various global markets that have maintained high standards in delivering quality care and service to their customers.
The unwavering efforts of the doctors, nurses and other staff who received the Global Health Awards 2020 has not gone unnoticed. Health Director-General, Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah congratulated Dr Suresh Kumar, Head of the Department for Infections Disease and Dr Shaiful Azman Zakaria, Department Head of Anaesthesia and Intensive Care on their achievement.

The Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah also made special mention of Dr Suresh Kumar, Dr Shaiful Azman Zakaria and the entire Covid-19 team at the Sungai Buloh Hospital in a statement posted on Istana Negara’s official Facebook page. His Majesty praised the team for raising Malaysia’s status on the world stage.
